This set dates to around the 1820s, and is likely of French make. The set is made in a very elegant gilt swirl pattern, with wide gilt rims and gilt interiors on the cups. The interior of the teapot has a pierced strainer area on the inside of the spout, so it is suitable for loose leaf tea, but the design and size is such this would make a great coffee or chocolate set as well.
