It has a 300 year history and was founded by a potter named Ozeki Sakujuro I

and he held a solo exhibition in the special gallery at Tokyo Daimaru Department Store

This listing is for a small Ryukyu ware vase made around 30 years ago. It was made using the slab technique and blue and iron based brush work over a light coloured base. This piece is made of stoneware and the opening is wide enough to fit a small bunch of thin stemmed flowers. This piece would also be suitable for displaying dried flowers.
