Due to the extreme weathering this piece offered a lot of opportunities for inlay work

This piece is the most challenging hollow form I have turned thus far due to the large number of voids in the wall of the vessel combined with the burl having grown around 4 different large rocks that I had to dig out and remove from the interior of the piece during the hollowing process

They have been trying to eradicate it for decades and I’m happy to do my part

I started with a piece that weighed over 250 lbs in the lathe

It literally translates as Rebirth of the Bison. While the European Bison (Bison bonasus)is different from the American bison (Bison bison) they look very similar.
