It tilts the slats open and closed. This part is considered heavy duty because it has a metal shaft and internal gear. This will provide a longer life than an all plastic mechanism. The end of the shaft on this part has an eyelet hole. It requires a tilt wand with a specific metal wire and a plastic cap on the end of it for proper attachment.
