We believe the shell to be a thin 6 ply mahogany construction with a mahogany stain finish. The snare throw is a generic throw off and is working very well. The top hoop is triple flanged and botton is double flanged. This snare comes installed with a Pearl SN 1420C (Copper) snare wires.
